Laser cutting nitrogen generators primarily utilise the principle of pressure swing adsorption (PSA) to separate oxygen and nitrogen from the air. Pressure swing adsorption (PSA) is an advanced gas separation technology that employs high-quality imported carbon molecular sieves (CMS) as the adsorbent, utilising the PSA principle at ambient temperature to separate air and produce high-purity nitrogen. During the laser cutting process, the primary function of nitrogen is to protect the metal cut surface and enhance the quality of the cut by preventing oxidation. As an inert gas, nitrogen displaces the oxygen surrounding the cutting area, thereby preventing the oxidation of the metal material and ensuring that the cut edges remain clean, free from discolouration or rust. This is crucial for high-end metal cutting, particularly for materials such as 304 stainless steel and 6061 aluminium alloy.

We use air as raw material and carbon molecular sieves (CMS) as absorbents. At specific pressures, CMS absorbs much more oxygen from the air than it absorbs nitrogen. Therefore, by controlling the switch with an automatic pneumatic valve, Tower A and Tower B can operate alternately to achieve the process of pressurized adsorption and depressurized desorption, thus completing the separation of adsorbents, separating oxygen and nitrogen, and achieving the target purity of nitrogen.

The principle of the nitrogen production unit is the same as that of the PSA nitrogen production machine, the only difference between the two is that the nitrogen production unit is assembled as a whole by prying. The so-called pry and install refers to fixing a set of equipment on a chassis made of angle steel or I-beam, which can be moved and positioned with the help of a pry bar. This is a way of combining equipment framework and equipment as a whole, where valves, pumps, and other equipment have been installed to form a complete assembly.
